RECIPE for 1 - 4.5" Pizza Crust
1/4 cup Cheesy Baking Mix
1 T Melted Butter
1 T Cream
2 T egg whites (carton)
Microwave butter in glass ramekin (5" diameter) for 15 - 20 seconds.
Let butter cool slightly then pour in the rest of the wet ingredients and stir.
Add dry mix into the wet ingredients. Stir quickly and even out the batter with the back of a wet spoon or by tilting the bowl. Gently tap the ramekin on the counter a few times to remove air bubbles.
Microwave on high for 90 seconds. For a dryer crust microwave an additional 30 seconds. (first for 90 seconds, open door to release some of the steam, then microwave on high another 30 seconds).
Gently lift with a knife and let cool on a rack. The crust will dry as it cools. You can make these ahead of time - once cool wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge.
To make your pizza
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add your favorite toppings to your crust. Bake on a tray lined with parchment ( not necessary but the crust does brown on the bottom quickly without it)
Bake for 10 minutes.
Tip - completely cover the top side of your pizza with sauce to lessen browning.
Pie Plate Pizza - 7" Base
9 T Cheesy Baking Mix
1 T Dried Parmesan
2 T Melted Butter
2 T Cream
1 T Water
5 T egg whites (carton)
Microwave butter in a 5 microwavable ramekin 15 - 20 seconds.
Let butter cool slightly then pour in the rest of the wet ingredients and whisk together.
Add dry mix into the wet ingredients. Stir well and pour into a glass pie plate (7" base) spread out mixture and even out the top with the back of a wet spoon. Gently tap the pie plate on the counter a few times to remove air bubbles.
Microwave for 2 minutes. Take the plate out and use a spatula to shape the edges of the pizza (see video).
Microwave for another 2 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes and then gently remove the crust with a rubber spatula. The center bottom will still be slightly under-cooked. Let cool on a wire rack.
Cover crust with pizza sauce, spread right out to the edges to over browning of the crust. Add the rest of your toppings and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese has melted.
